Review: HAPICA Sonic Toothbrush (Minus Ion, Periodontal Ultra and Pinpoint)

By My Sharings · December 7, 2011 · 0 Comments · 13 Views

I guess you must have been confused by the title of this post. What is Sonic Toothbrush? What is Minus Ion? What is Periodontal Ultra? What is Pinpoint? Well, I will be covering information about these different brush heads and about HAPICA Sonic Toothbrush in this post.

Some time ago, I was sent a HAPICA Minus Ion Sonic Toothbrush together with the Periodontal Ultra Brush Head and Pinpoint Brush Head for my review purposes. The toothbrush itself is called the HAPICA Sonic Toothbrush and because the Brush Head is different, hence you have the different names like HAPICA Minus Ion Sonic Toothbrush, HAPICA Periodontal Ultra Sonic Toothbrush and HAPICA Pinpoint Sonic Toothbrush

About HAPICA Sonic Toothbrushes
HAPICA toothbrushes were launched in 1986 in Japan and became a huge hit due to its superior dental cleansing ability and high durability at an affordable price. 100% Japan made, the uncompromised quality from material selection, design and construction of HAPICA sonic toothbrushes to HAPICA’s patented Hapi-Sonic™ technology earned international recognition and approval from various dental associations around the world.

Food Review: Spaghetti and Risotto @ Creation Cafe

By My Sharings · October 22, 2011 · 0 Comments · 47 Views

Hi everyone! Today, I will be sharing reviews about the dishes I've tried at Creation Cafe. The dishes shown in this post are Chef's recommendation at Creation Cafe. Please get yourself prepared before you continue as photos of the food will make you feel famished after that. =)

Creation Cafe is located at 100 Beach Road, #01-43 inside Shaw Leisure Gallery. Nearest MRT station is Bugis. Creation Cafe is positioned at the back, a corner of Shaw Leisure Gallery. Creation Cafe is definitely worth visiting as they provide affordable Italian dishes at only S$9.90 for Lunch Set which consists of a main course, soup and drink. NO service charge or GST too! ;)
Let's check out the wide range of dishes that Creation Cafe offers in their menu.
They offer a wide choice of drinks that you can choose from and I ordered Ice Lemon Tea.
The drink doesn't taste diluted at all!
For the starter, we had Soup of the day which is the Cream of Mushroom.
The soup tasted like any other mushroom soup except that it's a little salty. I love the generous bits of mushroom in the soup but on the other hand, it is sad that the corn starch in the soup isn't well stirred. Anyway, their garlic bread tasted awesome! I love dipping their garlic bread into the mushroom soup! :p
Moving on, the first Spaghetti we had is the Carbonara.
Creation Cafe's Carbonara is so creamy and cheesy! I love creamy, cheesy Carbonara! There are lots of ingredients in this dish too. If I remember correctly, there are mushroom, bacon, ham and salmon bits. This is a flavorful dish that can satisfy your taste buds. I love their well cooked spaghetti too!
My rating: 4/5

Next, we tried the Seafood Spicy Crabmeat.
This is one of my favourite spaghetti dishes at Creation Cafe! Looking the photos and thinking about the flavour in my mouth makes my mouth watery again. The sauce made this dish unique. The sauce tasted like Creamy Chili Crab. I've eaten Chili Crab before but it's my first time tasting such a creamy sauce. The chili isn't spicy at all, so it is good for people who can't take spicy food. This dish has a generous mix of seafood such as sweet Crab meat, big juicy Prawns, chewy Squid, Salmon bits and others which I've forgotten what they are. Hehe. Creation Cafe is rather meticulous as they have cracked the shell of the crab pincer and peeled off the shell of the prawns. The spaghetti is also well cooked. This dish is recommended by me, must try!
My rating: 5/5

Ok, what's next? It's the Seafood Java Curry Sauce.

Now we have another seafood dish. The seafood portion and varieties in this dish is still as amazing but instead of Crab meat, there's a huge juicy mussel. You have to try their mussel! It's thumb up! The sauce used for this dish is Java Curry Sauce. According to my sense of taste, the sauce reminds me of Thai Green Curry except that this is a creamy, non-spicy version of Thai Green Curry. Yes, it's another creamy dish. I think the popular dishes at Creation Cafe are mostly creamy dishes. Creamy dishes taste good but there's no specialty when everything is creamy but I still love their seafood and the price is very reasonable.
My rating: 3.5/5

Next, we had Seafood Laksa Cream Sauce.

This dish is almost similar to the Seafood Java Curry Sauce except that the sauce used is different. This dish didn't satisfy my taste buds even though I love eating Laksa because to me, Laksa isn't Laksa when there's no taste of slight spiciness in the sauce and I don't really fancy creamy Laksa. If their Laksa tastes like Katong Laksa, I would surely love it. It's just my personal preference here. :)
My rating: 2.5/5
Now, we have come to the last dish. Can you guess what it will be? Did you guess Risotto? Yes, it's Mushroom Risotto.
For every mouth you eat, you can taste mushroom in it, but if you taste it carefully, you can taste vegetables too. This is a well layered dish. I love the sauce but sadly, not the grains. The grains used for this dish aren't those thin, long Thailand grains but similar to Japanese grains which is good. However, if only their grains aren't so dry. I think they have cooked the grains too long that it had turned dry and slight hard which is really a pity coz otherwise this dish would have tasted really good.
My rating: 2.5/5

After we are done with the food, Elfaine gave us a packet of COOKIES! I love cookies! I think maybe I'm a Cookie Monster. Nom Nom Nom....

These cookies are prepared by a Grandma who opens The Wooden Spoon bakery at Shaw Leisure Gallery. I love her cookies but hope she can add a little more butter in it so it won't taste so dry. Just a little suggestion! :)

Thank you Elfaine for inviting me to this food tasting event. Hope you have enjoyed reading this post. :)
Loves,
Yvonne

Review: Leaders Clinic I.P.L WhiteLux Ampoule Mask

By My Sharings · October 13, 2011 · 0 Comments · 43 Views

As the title speaks it all, the item that I am going to share my review is the Leaders Clinic I.P.L WhiteLux Ampoule Mask. I believe many of us have heard a lot about Leaders Clinic facial masks and a lot about the goodness but Leaders Clinic facial masks do not come cheap at our local pharmacy outlets.

I was approached by Joyce from Joy Pharm to give Leaders Clinic facial masks a try. I am now glad to say that I have tried Leaders Clinic facial mask! :) Joyce sent me a parcel with a sweet note. Thank Joyce, I really appreciate it! ;)

One of the facial masks she sent me was the Leaders Clinic I.P.L WhiteLux Ampoule Mask. I.P.L stands for Intense Perfection Light which Dermatologist uses to make skin brighter.

Here's a little description and ingredients list for this facial mask.

If you find the above description too tiny for reading, here's what it says: Stable vitamin C-AA2G that overcame the limitations of vitamin C, arbutin with excellent whitening effect, and mulberry bark extract brighten and whiten dark and dull skin. With the use of silky continuous filament fiber cellulose sheet, it adheres to the skin without bubbling, and it contains an entire bottle of highly concentrated ampoule to enhance the effect of supplying nutrients to the skin while maximizing hydration of the skin.

Review: K-Palette 24H Real Lasting 2 Way Eyebrow Liners (No. 01 and 02)

By My Sharings · October 13, 2011 · 0 Comments · 39 Views

Hi everyone, today I will be sharing my review for the K-Palette 24H Real Lasting 2 Way Eyebrow Liners, both Number 01 and Number 02.

You must be wondering, why it is called 2 way? That's because the product consists of liquid liner and powder which can be used to draw a define shape for your eyebrows and fill in sparse areas of your eyebrows.

I think K-Palette is the first brand to come up with this double function eyebrow product. Awesome isn't it?

There are 2 different shades available for the 2 way eyebrow liner which are Number 01 Chocolate Brown and Number 02 Honey Brown.

Let me show you the difference in their shades.

Review: COYO T-Zone Pore Cleanser

By My Sharings · October 5, 2011 · 3 Comments · 59 Views

Hi everyone, here's another product from the COYO range that I will be sharing in my review. If you have not read the review for COYO Remover Clear Off Gel, you may read here (http://yvonneandherplayground.blogspot.com/2011/09/review-coyo-perfect-remover-clear-off.html)

Alright! Back to COYO T-Zone Pore Cleanser.

COYO T-Zone Pore Cleanser comes in a tube form that is easy to dispense the product and use it.
COYO T-Zone Pore Cleanser basically helps to remove dead skin cells and minimise the chance of getting clogged pores. You may read the detailed information (directions to use and ingredients) about COYO T-Zone Pore Cleanser below.
The product comes with seal to keep the product fresh. Once the seal is broken, it is advisable to use up the product soon otherwise it will turn into liquid form instead of being in it's supposed gel form.
Let me show you the texture of COYO T-Zone Pore Cleanser.
When dispensed from the tube, it comes in a gel form. When in contact with a little heat (your body temperature), it will turn into liquid.
When in liquid form, it feels almost like the CURE Exfoliant the scent is also quite similar.
After a few rubs, you will notice the skin's dead cells are 'attracted' to the liquid. Your skin will look fairer and feels slightly smoother after rinsing off the product. It is a must to rinse off the product thoroughly otherwise you can feel the dryness and tightness on your skin.
I've tried COYO T-Zone Pore Cleanser and the result seems quite good. Removing dead skin cells on a regular basis does help to minimise the formation of blackheads on my skin. COYO T-Zone Pore Cleanser is also able to remove the blackheads but the product has to be used a few times before deep-rooted blackheads can be rubbed out. I'm glad that this product isn't harsh on my slight sensitive skin and did not observe any adverse effect from using this product. The only downside of this product is it's scent which smells like sour plum. The scent is kind of weird but I'm still glad that this product works for me.
My Rating: 3.6/5

Where to Purchase: Selected Guardian outlets. (Suntec City Mall, Tanglin Mall, ION Orchard, 313@Somerset, Centrepoint, Plaza Singapura, Raffles City Shopping Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Serangoon NEX, Northpoint, Jurong Point, IMM)
